Canadian here: love your videos! Your comment on "Lobbying: what every other country in the world calls corruption and bribery" is not true in Canada. We call it that too! In fact, our little wannabe fascist leader of the opposition loves them! As does our Prime Minister, but much like your Democrats, our Liberals don't say the quiet parts out loud like the other party does. It's largely the same story up here. The Conservatives add new "common sense" austerity measures, chipping at our freedoms, dignity and economic stability. Then the Liberals get back in on fixing the last few years but really only act as a ratchet so things no longer get better, but the new status quo is kept. The ratchet effect, largely traced back to lobbyists. It's the Canadian way.

It's absurd but I've saw americans achieve their "american dream" here in Italy. I've saw an american gay couple buying an apartment in Florence, recover it and live here like it was the most normal thing to do. They had no issue with people hating them due to their gay thing (not like we don't have extremists, but they just don't live in city centers). Working here, eating, going to cinema, having a stimulating life. I'm really proud of my country. It serms that Italy can offer more than what just others can. But of course we have tons of problems too. And maybe it's this fact that makes Italy the best country in the world.

I am one of those who would say "good". I got rid of my phone years ago. The only devices I have that connect to the internet are my laptops and I recently decided to get rid of my wifi router. Now the only place in my home that has internet is the desk in my bedroom. My goal is to get rid of my home internet by the end of the calendar year. I admit I would iss being able to use the internet for work but I think I would adapt and life would be better overall.

Jokes on you! I got mine by being lucky and buying a house in 2019! Except the company I work for has no loyalty and I can lose my job at any moment. Everyone! Read the book "Against Landlords" It literally just came out this year. It's very informative about the housing crisis and how to solve it. Landlording has to stop completely or the cost of housing, rent, and property taxes will keep going up infinitely. We already have entire generations of homeless people. Make no mistake, Landlording IS LAND HOARDING. Landlording IS why house prices always go up and never come down. Landlords need to quit being parasites and get a real job. They are not providing housing, they are playing "Ticket Scalping" but with houses. Housing should be a right!

Wall Mart is just one of the mega-corporations that destroyed many small business owners throughout the US while devastating the economies of small towns. Europe is an example of how socialism has worked and is still thriving. Most people live within their means and don't live in McMansions. They have a better sense of community and support small brick-and-mortar businesses. Capitalists are destroying the economy and middle class with their robust GREED. People in socialist countries enjoy a higher health, education, and overall physical quality of life than those in capitalist countries with similar economic development.

CIA has been using the so called "Jakarta Method" to replace democratically elected leaders with puppet leaders who corrupt the country and enrich the US government. It led to mass murder of millions of people of 22 countries for more than 45 years. They also use economic hitman to steal the country's resources and put them in debt that they may never repaid. I'm not saying that all Americans are bad, because they also has been brainwashed by their own government to believe they they were the "good guys". Just looked at they way American portrayed themselves in Hollywood movies. i believe the American people are waking up to the fact that their own government is not even working for American people.

The chile story is certainly biased. While it’s true the CIA devised a plan to depose Allende, it failed catastrophically (they tried to assassinate a general and blame it on Allende, but it ended up backfiring), they had no (official) involvement with Pinochet’s coup, although no one is saying they weren’t happy about it.

We can blame capitalism but you have to remember a few other facts. If only black Americans voted in the American election cycles we would have a much higher degree of policies that help the whole of America. Black Americans are by far the most liberal/communal population in America. We can blame capitalism but good ole racism in America will always be in fashion. To me racism hurts America as a whole and the main reason we continue to have prosperity to the majority of Americans.

Once you all realize the President has no power and the Federal Reserve actually runs the country then you will realize none of this matters at all.

No doomer by any means, I'm just angry. I want to do something about all of this but it seems so far out of my grasp and for anyone in general. Lets be honest. The ruling class wouldn't care if 80% of America's population vanished over night because they can import cheap labor who are willing to be paid so little that it is a metaphorical crime.

Yes it is collapsing. The collapse used to be slower when I was a kid, but accelerated after 9/11. The country is divided and problems go unsolved while people suffer.

@secondthough, I am curious as to what you think of Michael Tellingers concept of "Ubuntu" (Contributionism? It is a good read and in my humble opinion as a urban geographer, an achievable alternative to classic capitalism ... it is utopian, but achievable. Also gread vid as always!
